Our Mission

Dar a Luz Honduras’ mission is to increase awareness of Respectful Maternity Care and Human Rights in Childbirth, as well as compassion for birthing women. By offering women childbirth education, doula support during childbirth and teaching medical and midwifery skills, we contribute to improving birth outcomes. • We implemented the concept of doula to public hospitals and into the Honduran Health Care System
  • We have a program to reinforce clinical skills
  • We have a doula program
  • We collaborate with traditional midwives
  • We have a life saving skills training program
  • We hold seminars and trainings for healthcare providers
  • We provide educational workshops for women, families and teenagers
  • We organize donations of needed materials
  • We host doula trainings

One of our main missions is to create conscience for human rights during childbirth and advocate for respectful maternity care.
